    • Oils – Maximum 30 supply, 450 ml monthly max.
    • Capsules – 30 day supply, 600 mg monthly max.

Local 183 Industrial Benefit Fund Merger & Enhancements

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Benefit Merger – Labourers’ Local 183 Industrial Benefit Fund to merge into the Local 183 Members’ Benefit Fund

The Trustees of the Local 183 Members’ Benefit Fund have approved the transfer of the Members’ benefits coverage from the Labourers’ Local 183 Industrial Benefit Fund to the Local 183 Members’ Benefit Fund.

Effective JUNE 1, 2025, Labourers’ Local 183 Industrial Benefit Fund members will receive the same core benefits as members participating in the Local 183 Members’ Benefit Fund plan.

Labourers’ Local 183 Industrial Benefit Fund members will also receive an enhanced level of specialty benefits (Critical Illness, Hospital Cash, etc.)
In addition to the above noted enhancements, members will be able to utilize a number of new benefits and services currently not offered in the Local 183 Industrial Benefit Fund plan.

2025 Scholarship applications are open!

LiUNA Local 183 believes that post-secondary education is the foundation of success. Since 2006, the Labourer’s Local 183 Scholarship Trust Fund has provided financial support to students, awarding an incredible 1,137 scholarships, totaling over $9.6 million. As we continue our mission, we are thrilled to announce that applications for the 2025 scholarship program are now open!

Post-secondary education is a significant stepping stone toward a brighter future, and we are committed to supporting our members, their children, and their grandchildren in achieving their academic goals. Whether you’re just starting your post-secondary journey or continuing your education, our scholarship program can provide the financial assistance you need.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • You are the member, child or grandchild of a Local 183 member or retiree member who is in good standing.
  • Have not received a Local 183 Scholarship in the past
  • If previously applied but not awarded, you are eligible to re-apply
  • One scholarship is awarded to a student with a disability

Please note spouses of members are not eligible to apply.

How to Apply?

  1. Personal Information Form – Fill out the form with all required personal details.
  2. Essay Submission – Submit an essay that follows the Essay Guidelines.
  3. Official Academic Transcript – Provide an official transcript from your most recent school or institution.
  4. Acceptance Letter – Letter of acceptance for the college or university you will attend in the upcoming academic year (September 2025).
  5. Additional Supporting Documents – This includes awards, community involvement, or paid work positions.

All applications must be submitted through our secure Online Portal by the application deadline, July 15, 2025.

Health clinic now open in Vaughan

The LiUNAcare Local 183 Health Clinic is officially open at 200 Labourers Way, Suite 3300, Vaughan, offering crucial healthcare services to all members and their eligible dependents aged (16 and older).

LiUNAcare Local 183 helps members stay ahead of health concerns by focusing on early disease prevention. The new clinic offers comprehensive health assessments to catch issues early, reduce health risks, improve overall well-being, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

All members and their dependents can easily book a 30-minute assessment, at a time convenient to them, providing a detailed picture of their overall health.

What Does the Assessment Include?

During the confidential 30-minute assessment, members will receive tests that provide a detailed snapshot of their health. These include:

  • Vital Signs: Temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Blood Tests: Help detect early signs of risk for heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and other cardiovascular diseases.
  • Body Measurements: Height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI).

After the tests are complete, members will receive a Health Risk Assessment Report. A healthcare professional will then go over the findings with the member, offering tailored guidance on what the results mean for their health and the steps they can take toward improving their overall well-being.
