Vacation pay, your way

Vacation pay is held on behalf of LiUNAcare Local 183 members and paid from LiUNAcare annually in the month of June. However, if you prefer to receive payouts throughout the year, there are two easy ways to apply:

  1. Complete and submit an online application using the Vacation Pay Submission Tool or
  2. Print and complete a Vacation Pay Withdrawal Application form and submit by

If you notice any discrepancies with your vacation pay amount, please print and complete a Vacation Pay Problem form and submit, along with copies/scans of pay stubs for all work months, via email, fax or mail.

Download the LiUNAcare Local 183 eClaims app from the App Store or Google Play and follow the registration instructions. Make sure you have your Member Advantage Photo Card handy as you’ll be asked to provide your group number (the first six digits on your card) and certificate number (the remaining 10 digits).


Prefer to register using your computer?

That’s easy enough. Just click on the eClaims link in the top right corner of your screen, click Register account, and follow the steps.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll be able to view your monthly eligibility for benefits by clicking on the Profile icon and selecting My accountThis is where you’ll also find a digital copy of your Member Advantage Photo Card for future reference.


Want to submit a medical or dental claim online?

Let’s do this! Simply log into your eClaims account and click Submit a claim. You’ll be asked to provide the details of your claim and upload a photograph of your receipt. Make sure your receipt includes the patient’s name, as well as the service provider’s name, address and registration number.

If you’re submitting a claim for a service requested by a doctor’s referral, you’ll need to provide a copy of that referral. There are two ways you can do this: either upload a photo of the referral letter along with a photo of your receipt, or send a copy of it to Member Services by email or fax. If you choose to send it to Member Services, be sure to include your LiUNAcare Local 183 certificate number (the last 10 digits on your Member Advantage Photo Card).


Need to submit several receipts?

No problem. You can submit multiple receipts in a single claim provided that all of the receipts come from the same provider. If you have several receipts to submit for services provided by different providers, you’ll need to submit separate claims for each provider.


Want to know the status of a payment?

Provided you’ve submitted your claim correctly, you can look forward to receiving payment within three to five business days. Payment will arrive by mail in the form of a cheque, unless you’ve set your eClaims account up for Electronic Funds Transfer.

Of course, you can check on the status any time. Simply click on the History tab in the main menu and you’ll see a list of all previously submitted claims and their respective statuses. If you want to view an explanation of benefits for a specific claim, select that claim from the list and then click EOB.

LifeJourney and vCare

Member Family Assistance Program (MFAP)

As part of your benefit plan, LiUNA Local 183 members now have access to LifeJourney, a new way to approach Member Family Assistance Programs (MFAP). It’s a single, integrated virtual service that provides you with 24/7 access to immediate, compassionate care directly through the vCare app.

Important Member Advantage Photo Card Reminder

New Member Advantage Photo Cards were mailed to all eligible LiUNA Local 183 members and their eligible spouses on August 1, 2020. These new cards replace all previous versions of benefit cards.

If the latest card you received does not have a photograph, you are required to either have your photo taken at your local LiUNA Local 183 office OR submit your own photo through our secure Member Card Photo Submission page. The same applies to all eligible spouses or common law partners.

All members and eligible spouses will be asked to upload a recent photograph, as well as a photograph or scan of their Member Advantage Photo Card and a piece of government-issued photo ID, e.g. current driver’s license, passport or health card.

New online payment option for self pay provisions

Should your coverage terminate because you are unemployed and have recall rights you will be given the option to continue your coverage by making self-payments to the Members Benefit Fund.

And, you can now make payments online through your financial institution. It’s as simple as paying a bill from the comfort of your home.

Please allow 48 hours to process your payment.

  1. Log into your online banking institution.
  2. Navigate to “Pay Bills” page.
  3. Select “Add Payee” and search for Local 183 Members’ Benefit Fund and “Select”.
  4. Under Account Number, include your full Benefit Card Number as displayed on your Member Advantage Photo Card.
  5. Select “Pay this Payee” and make your monthly benefit payment of $102.60, or as listed on your friendly reminder notice.
  6. You will receive a confirmation number when payment is made. Please keep this number for your reference.
